 My husband refuses to applier his teeth.?

I think that is really gross. I get on him most it and he doesn't seem to care. Sometimes he goes for life at a time. Sometimes he lies most it, too, and says he brushed when he really didn't. I don't know how to get him to listen. I feel like he is my 3 year old instead of my husband. Any advice or thoughts?
