at least 4 life I hate to tell you. That blood clod has to form and stay in there, if you suck on a cig and pull it out, whammmmmm dry socket. I worked for a dentist and had people come in about a week later in the poorest discompose of their lives and reaked of smoke. I would ask when they preserved and they all would say " i waited a some days' I took it as more same a " some hours". Also refrain straws too or you crapper intend one. Suck the cigarette through your nose. LOL.

Its thin to get a dry socket with upper teeth, however it is more likely if you don't study your post-op directions like using straws and smoking. My duty suggests 48-72 hours (two to three days). I know that's really difficult, but please do the best you can. Not only is the suction from respiration likely to cause a dry socket, but also respiration inhibits the flow of murder to the paper in your representative which crapper make it harder to form/keep a clod and for your representative to heal. Best of luck, and I do wish that one day you're able to quit - for you not because everyone says so.
