Active ingredients are ingredients which hit a measurable gist on the performance of the product. Toothpaste is witting to clean your teeth, strengthen your set and preclude cavities, and possibly do other things much as whiten your teeth, treat intense breath, or turn manducate sensitivity. So the active ingredients list may include fluoride compounds (tooth strengtheners), peroxides (whiteners), etc.
Inactive ingredients are things like fillers, flavorings, color additives, preservatives, and so forth; these do not enhance the medical effectiveness of the toothpaste.
