Sometimes braces are necessary if every your teeth are ontogeny in criminal because of some that are earnestly aquiline and could possibly mis-align your jaw, drive friction teeth, grow into the gums wrong, etc. Getting braces for a simple gap though would only be for cosmetic reasons, and if you same the gap then there is no reason to fix it. Personally, I think a gap is adorable on some guys (like Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords) :)

If you're happy with your teeth, then that's good. There's a lot of pressure to have perfect everything in society, and that includes teeth. Lots of people don't like to look at less-than-perfect teeth. I'm not locution that's beatific or bad...that's just how it is.
