yes. it,s a artefact of getting disembarrass of a minor fruit ache. i,ve done it for years. warm it to just above body temp. before using.

Absolutely safe. Warm it up a bit, put a few drops in apiece ear, and stuff some material pieces in there. Works enthusiastic for removing earwax. I've done this for eld for my daughter, works like a charm.
