Appears to be very little info on Tribulus aquaticus anywhere....... unlike the another more widely known Tribulus terrestris, which has 182 hits on Pubmed ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed )...though even T. terrestris appears not to hit a database entry on drugs.com:
http://www.drugs.com/alpha/t15.html
From the Culpepper Plant Names Database, you encounter this info:
Chapter name:
Caltrop (Water)
Latin name:
Trapa natans
Other names:
Tribulus aquaticus, Tribulus lacusoris, Tribulus marinus, Saligos, Water nut, Water chestnut

Have not been able to verify this info, with regards to them existence the same plant. Have not been able to encounter some safety data or technological information on T. aquaticus.
You strength conclude it could be unwise to take something that looks to hit escaped the medical and technological community with regards investigate thus far. Might be wrong though with regards abstracted research. You strength like to see what you can find.
Be cagy with regards to what companies advertise regarding something they are trying to sell....especially if they cannot wage trusty journal/org/clinical study back up data.
Good luck.
