It's commonly a habit triggered by stress. I curl my hair with my fingers. Some people chew on their pencils, and diminutive children draw their thumbs. Try painting your nails with nail polish- it can't taste good. If you are extremely worried about it, speech with your family doctor, because you might even have whatever sort of demand that crapper easily be corrected by a vitamin.

my lowercase brother used to do it, until i started painting him nails so that when he bit them they tasted nasty, so he stopped.. but if your friends are older then that may not work.

Good question. I've been pungent my nails for as long as I crapper remember. My dad utilised to ban tv if I didn't stop. It was a injure but didn't work, nothing did for about 30 years. I think it's a habit, some people say that they bite nails because they're nervous. You crapper try buying a special country nab radiance which tastes really bad. What finally worked for me was acrylic nails, I had them for about 2-3 weeks, that gave a quantity to my nails to acquire out a little. Took the acrylics soured and I've been bite free ever since. My nails look enthusiastic now, I take a good care of them. Have a nab enter with me all the time, in every purse or activity :-) But even doing that took a few tries, I guess just like with quitting any habit, you'd have to be mentally ready for it. Good luck to your friends.
