 What stung me on my arm?

we were chopping wood, and a fault got squished on my arm, i saw little albescent hairs going in my arm. now, i have a rash, it's hot, and hard. i springy in central westerly virginia. i think it's some kind of caterpillar.any ideas?

Probably a butterfly stung you. In this case an Io moth. They are very poisonous and you do not hit long to live.
