As a nursing student and someone certified by the dweller Heart Association as a1st Aid, CPR, and AED Healthcare Provider, let me provide a lowercase lax advice.
It depends on the depth of the cut; if it is superficial and poor the rattling top layer of skin, I agree with letting it expose out, with two more pieces of advice; disinfect and or lavage the wound with peroxide(it won't hurt, alcohol and iodine tend to sting a bit), and apply a triple antibiotic ointment. If you are a homeopathic person, metal is a beatific wound healer.
If the revilement is deep, and depending on how you revilement it(was it revilement by something with a high temperature, and the wound cauterized when the injury occurred?, or by something that could hit bacteria or rust on it), you may need a skilled individual in the medical trade to hit a peek at it, get a tetanus shot, or antibiotics to make trusty you do okay.
If it shows signs of infection(swelling, redness, fever, etc.) stop by your local EMS office and wager what they hit to say. Just use a lowercase taste of what my Mama calls "common sense" and beatific judgement as your pass and you won't go wrong!
Hope you heal up swell!
