I want to know what happens when you get shot by a standard infantry rifle patch wearing a vest.

More than likely it will be a really bad wound depending on the distance of the shot. Might break bones. A close family someone was effort while wearing a bullet-proof vest and he had a really filthy wound on the upper-right side of his torso.

Depending on the range, you'd probably have whatever pretty severe bruising and whatever busted ribs (if it was close range.).

It every depends on the level (rating) of the vest. Some bulletproof/resistant vests can stop rifle rounds, while others barely hold up to a .357 round. Either way, an impact delivered to the clothe will cause the wearer such discomfort and bruising.
