 Help on sprained ankle problem?

I don't know if this is a sprain or a twisted ankle, but i had to limp patch walking. I see a purple redish blot nearby my ankle. Is this a internal bleeding or a bruise? It wasn't there before until I was walking to school today. i either sprained or twisted my ankle on Friday. I went to school then when i become back i saw a purple redish spot. Do i need to get my foot x-ray or surgery. I injured my ankle from basketball from construction on someone foot. Right today my foot seems fatter than the other foot. Is this a big problem?
