I impact in a hospital and today I was helping a patient take his shirt off and his picc distinction lapse to the floor. I rattling dont think i pulled it out, because i was rattling certain and watched what i was doing. It acted like it was resting in the sleeve of his shirt. Anyway, is this chanceful for a picc distinction to be pulled out? could my job be at jeopardy? yes i did report it and the nurse accused me of pulling it out. I am 100% positive i did not vantage it out. The man was slouched in his chair and when i took his shirt off i was rattling careful. It just lapse discover of his shirt and freaked me out.

I doubt you will be fired, but I suggest you notify a physician or supervisor. A picc distinction comes out much easier than it goes in but if the patient is without it or it is inserted incorrectly it can blackball them due to air in the blood stream.

A PICC line is VERY long. It goes all the artefact to their heart. Are you trusty you fully pulled it out? Or did you maybe meet fortuity it? Either artefact I hope to God that you DOCUMENTED and REPORTED what happened? Because the line is in a main varicosity that goes to the heart, the enduring crapper bleed very heavily if pressure is not practical straight absent for at LEAST 15 minutes. If pressure is not practical the enduring crapper loose a LOT of murder risking their life. If you DID document and reportable it straight absent then no your job is not in jeopardy. BUT if you hit not reportable or documented it straight away, then yes you could loose your job because of legal ramifications. Risk to patient. And unfortunate to inform to person in charge. And lot's of another things. PICC lines run a HUGE RISK of infection at the prizewinning of times. Please verify me you did inform and document?????
