Reader's Digest version: I am 22 years old. I lapse in March and broke my right ankle. Doctor didn't conceive I necessary surgery but a month later said "Things are looking worse. You requirement to have your pearl screwed unitedly to allow both ends to heal" (basically so they would fuse unitedly again). So they put in plates and screws 5 weeks after I'd broken it. Spent two weeks recovering from surgery. Went back to work in a cast. Normally everybody at work stands (I work at an aquarium) so they definite as long as I was on crutches, I could intend a chair at sit at the entrance. Now another month and a half after effort discover of the patch I had healed enough from physical therapy to achievement without a crutch or cane. My doctors ease said "Go easy. Don't defence for long periods." I told my bosses I ease necessary the chair patch at the entrance to sit and rest if ned be, but I'd defence as much as doable and measure if requirement be. A patch back this man started distribution these shifts to be where I achievement around nearby passing discover reduction coupons and the like. Not so bad to ready travel vs. stagnant so long as I got breaks. I got scheduled running a small ride and I said "I'm sitting on that old stepladder when its slow" and seemed to intend no arguments. Now I'm back at entrance again twice this week. I've been travel for a patch but haven't gotten the 'All clear' from my medico and its wrinkled to defence long periods. Cause its not just the plate and the soreness, its the muscles that contracted and died when I didn't walk, and I conceive they cut through a few during my surgery as well. I got an 'Excelling' performance review from the manager 3 weeks ago, where he said that despite being stuck in one place for 3 months, I became the best entry person they've got. The long and short of all this is, if I intend crap ease for wanting to have a chair at the entry (when nobody else gets one) do you conceive I'm ease legit on this. My feature is 'I can achievement fine, but don't ask me to defence for 7 hours in a row with only a couple hurried breaks. I'm feat to have to sit patch working for short periods.'

You're probable to hit both pain and swelling for a while following this type of surgery. It's quite normal to hit pain still and modify moreso since you are standing on it 7 hours a day. It is not a bad thing to hit the lead to sit and rest as needed. It's also a good idea to cover it as often as you can during the period when you're on a break. I highly doubt your muscles hit 'died', but I'm sure you're dealing with weakness and also a lack of general stability/proprioception. You need to move strength upbringing for your ankle/foot muscles to build up general living which module help you stand for longer periods of time. Make sure your P.T. gave you a home program with specific exercises. Good luck!
