YES. Most patients are numbed or completely unconscious when they are done. Especially if it has to be done to a child. Sorry to fortuity the bad news, but that's one scrutiny procedure that is very painful. An Epidural administered to a pregnant woman in labor is near to the aforementioned thing, only not quite as agonized - and she can't be knocked out for it.

Unfortunately yes, the saucer of insertion will perceive be painful for about a day and you will intend a headache if you are upright(standing up) for any punctuation of time until the spinal fluid builds itself back up (anywhere from 3-7 days) Just do not shrink or move when they are doing it. Sorry about your luck but they do not do the effort for unnecessary reasons.
