Please help... My elderly aunty has direful pain in the bone of her arm. What could this be?

 Please help... My elderly aunty has direful pain in the bone of her arm. What could this be?

It's not in the joint of her shoulder... it is below the shoulder nearby the outmost lateral of the bicep but in the bone. This has been going on for months and she has tried heat, pain medication and rest but nothing helps. What could this be and what can she do to get some relief?
