My lover has been at the same hospital for 6 years, do nurses get pensions? If so, does she hit to stay at the same hospital/clinic for 20 years straight and then retire? Or module she lose her pension if she switches hospitals? I'm just curious, thanks.

you will have to ask her, not mind you that it's some of your business. Some hospitals do offer grant funds, some don't. Some nurses are sharp enough to set up their possess grant assets some aren't. But this sort of aggregation is individual and very private, suggest that if you don't know her rattling well, keep your curiosity to yourself.

Hardly anyone gets pensions anymore. Most businesses, including hospitals, do offer their employees a 401K (or 403b for not-for-profit hospitals) assets plan, and many businesses also contribute to those plans. If you leave the business, the playing no individual contributes the employee plan, but the employee takes the statement with them. Businesses vary, so you'd have to check her hospital to verify, but the vast majority of businesses (and hospitals are a business) work in this way in regards to retirement benefits.

although it's fantastic your question and surprising. i don't know what country you are in, but normally changing the place of work has null to do one and the other. your wife is stipendiary her grant to the polity where they feat to compile her references and dossiers for her eventual retirement pension. changing the location of your work concern only the mortal and the administration who will state her. wish your doubts got answered, however, you should enquire all the necessary informations you requirement before doing your steps.

Really depends. Is the hospital municipal, a for-profit enterprise,or a charitable organization? What identify of pension plan is offered? Defined goodness (private or open sector?) Is there a union involved? The only way to tell for trusty is to communicate the HR division at the hospital for a Summary Plan Description (SPD) for the plan. This should be a booklet describing the plan's benefits and most importantly, it's vesting requirements. If your girlfriend's goodness vests in 5 years (the most exemplary timeframe in the non-union, clannish sector) then she will retain her accumulated goodness if she changes jobs. Note, however, that under many plans leaving prior to withdrawal age does hit costs. Most defined goodness plans give various kinds of subsidies to long service employees who move until withdrawal to leave. You give up the opportunity to get these if you leave early. That's why having five small pensions from five jobs usually results in inferior withdrawal income than digit pension from digit job you worked at for the entire period.
